This summer, Saint-Malo becomes a nighttime destination like never before. From July 9 to August 23, 2026, the historic Église Sainte-Croix hosts Terra Aletia – In the Wake of the Corsairs, an immersive sound and light show combining 360° projections, holographic effects, spatialized sound, and live performance.
The Corsair History of Saint-Malo Brought to Life
A story rooted in real maritime heritage
Far more than a visual spectacle, Terra Aletia explores the true history of the corsairs of Saint-Malo, the privateers who shaped the city’s identity and maritime power. Figures such as René Duguay-Trouin come to life through a narrative blending history, legend, and emotion.
The show also revisits key chapters of Saint-Malo’s maritime heritage, from corsair expeditions to Newfoundland fishermen and Atlantic explorers, offering a journey through centuries of coastal and oceanic history.
A Large-Scale Community Production
Volunteers, professionals, and a living cultural project
Each performance brings together around 80 volunteer performers aged 5 to 85, alongside professional actors. In total, more than 300 volunteers and around 120 technicians and artists contribute to the production, making Terra Aletia a true collective adventure rooted in the Saint-Malo community.

Église Sainte-Croix transformed into a 360° projection space
The vaulted architecture of Église Sainte-Croix becomes a monumental immersive canvas. Light, sound, and image interact to create a cinematic experience designed by Damien Fontaine, known for large-scale immersive productions in France and abroad.
A Family-Friendly Show in Saint-Malo
Accessible to all audiences from age 6
Designed for families and visitors of all ages, the show lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Seating areas, raised platforms for children, and a free shuttle service ensure comfort and accessibility.
